MacOS

While Apples hardware may be of higher quality than most other vendors (debatable), their operating system offering, MacOS, is a far cry from usable out of the box. This is my list of absolutely necessary settings, software and gotchas:

  1. Activate Tap-to-click
  2. Install Rectangle for window tiling https://rectangleapp.com/
  3. Install Linear Mouse to be able to use an external mouse https://linearmouse.app/
  4. Install Alt-Tab to be able to tab through windows https://alt-tab-macos.netlify.app
  5. Install musicdecoy https://lowtechguys.com/musicdecoy
  6. Remember that DNS settings are always applied for every connection
  7. (optional) Feel like a 🤡 for having to do this on a 3000$ machine
